  Chinese five spice powder-martha stewart livi
 
Yield: 1 /4 cup
 
2 tb Whole star anise (about 10)      1 tb Szcchuan peppercorns
1 Stick cinnamon      2 tb Fennel seeds
1/2 ts Whole cloves
 1. Place all ingredients in a saute pan over medium heat and dry-roast shaking pan often until they give off an aroma about 5 minutes. 2.
